About Us

OUR MISSION

At Bright Eyes Family Vision Care and Bright Eyes Kids, our mission is to empower people by providing the best in friendly, professional, and innovative eyecare.

We will help you see your best now and in years to come! Dr. Bonilla-Warford and Dr. Knighton specialize in Pediatrics and Vision Therapy, as well as contact lenses and family eyecare. We welcome adults and kids in our Westchase office, and the New Tampa office is just for children.

Our residency-trained doctors are people just like you, and they know what separates a great healthcare experience from the typical rushed, impersonal ones. We like to be treated with friendly respect by professionals who know their stuff, so we strive to provide that same experience to you.

In our mission to offer the best eyecare services possible, we use the most advanced diagnostic technology and eyecare products available. We are committed to educating our patients and providing state-of-the-art, personalized eyecare services to the people of Tampa Bay.
About Us

OUR HISTORY

In the early 2000’s, Dr. Nate and his wife Cristina lived in Chicago, but as he finished his optometric residency in pediatric vision and vision therapy, they both knew they wanted to return to Florida to be closer to family. In 2006, they opened Bright Eyes Family Vision Care at a small storefront location in the Westchase area of Tampa.

As the practice grew and specialty services such as Vision Therapy and Orthokeratology increased, Bright Eyes needed more space, so we moved to our nicer, larger Westchase location on Linebaugh Avenue. Patients love it and so do we!

At Bright Eyes Family Vision Care, about 40% of our patients are children. Over the years, patients from distant locations such as Gainesville, Winter Haven, and Sebring have come to the Westchase office for specialty children’s services not offered at typical optometry practices. In an effort to make these trips easier, we opened Bright Eyes Kids in 2014 in the New Tampa area. This office is designed specifically for patients 0 to 18 years old.
