Dr. Christie Hartsfield received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2002. Since then she has studied developmental optometry with an interest in binocular and accommodative disorders having been a vision therapy patient herself. She completed a residency in community healthcare and primary care optometry at the InterAmerican University in Puerto Rico. She was the first to complete this accredited residency in 2004.
After finishing her residency she has lived in the Tampa Bay area with her husband and children. She has done optometric volunteer work in Peru and the Dominican Republic.
