Can Tampa Handle our HUGE Coach Give-Away !?!

coach logo

This year it will be three years that we've had this blog up and running and we've had over 50,000 page views.  And to celebrate those three years,  we are giving away 3 Coach frames! You could win FREE Coach sunglasses or Coach frames!

There are three ways you can enter, and no purchase is necessary. There will be one winner from each category.

1) Write a comment here on this post and tell us what you think of this blog. All comments welcome!

2) Become our Facebook fan and/or follower on Twitter. Then post a comment on Facebook Wall or mention @BrightEyesTampa in a tweet. UPDATE: You can enter via Twitter with our one-click contest entry!

3) Text the word "BrightEyes" to  74700. This will sign you up to receive occasional special announcements and deals from Bright Eyes and enter you to win the Coach eyewear.coach frames

On February 28, 2010, we will announce the winners on this blog. There will be one winner from each of the categories above and you can enter by any and all of the methods as many times as you want.

But take note.  We are not going to pick the winners at random. From each group above, we will pick a winner that is compelling.  The funnier or more interesting, the better. The more attention you draw to yourself (and Bright Eyes),  the more likely you are to win. You could win by entering many times or one exquisitely-crafted entry.

If you really want to get our attention, write a blog entry about why you want - or need - these Coach frames. The bigger and better your campaign, the more likely you are to take home some  shades or have some nice frames for the next time you need to update your glasses!

And although it will not be counted towards your entry for the Coach eyewear, keep in mind, we are looking for more Yelp reviews, too!

So, go nuts! And let the games begin!!

Contest ends at 12:00 a.m. on 02/27/2010. The winner will be able to pick from the selection of Coach frames we have available, but you must physically come to the office in person by 03/31/2010. The prizes are transferable, so guys, you can bring your special woman down to pick out some frames if you like. @DolceDebbie is not eligible to win because she has already won some fab Tiffany Frames.  No purchase necessary. Prescription lenses cost extra, but need not be purchased to win. A valid glasses prescription is needed if you would like to have prescription sunglasses or glasses. Text messaging service is provided by SUMOtext, and you may be charged for texts depending on your cell phone plan. You can opt-out of the service at any time. If you have any questions, contact doc@brighteyestampa.com.

I think that you do a great job at “staying connected” to your local area. I had a friend win $100 from you last time you had a contest and she used it for contacts. Needless to say, she is a new Bright Eyes customer just based on the fab service she received a few months ago. = )

  2. Natebw says:

Thanks Krystal! We do love being a local business and try to stay connected.

Thanks for entering! So far, you are the clear winner in the blog group!! 🙂

  3. madhousefl says:

First I need to schedule my eye exam. Second, if I'm going to need glasses again then I most certainly need to sport some Coach Frames…they are my favorite brand! and you are doing a goo djob with having a presence in social media…I never would have become familiar with Bright Eyes if it wasn't for your interactions on Twitter and FB.

Please make my eyes, stylish-ly BRIGHT!

  4. I think that you are one of the few indie retailers that really “get” social media. The number one rule is care about your customers – which you obviously do. Your blog is informative and you have a great presence on Twitter.

Now, I already follow you on FB and Twitter, so does this mean I'm entered twice? 😉

  5. Natebw says:

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback! I am quite confident that if you put your mind to it, you could walk away with some Coaches at the end of the month. Remember you can craft your campaign with as many posts, tweets, and texts!

  6. Thanks Kevin,

You are entered every time you tweet, post on FB, or comment here. But according to the comments above, you have your work cut out for you. 🙂

  7. mquale says:

Awesome contest, and great idea! Sharing this across my network. I don't really want the give aways, but my girlfriend is a huge coach fan. Plan on telling her about this too.

    Kudos !

  8. Hey, thanks for the comments and the publicity! We couldn't be doing it if you weren't hosting this blog. 🙂 This is by far the biggest, most comprehensive social media contest we've ever had, and so far it is really fun.

And don't forget, the prizes are transferable, so you can win and give them to whoever you want. 🙂

  9. Great feedback everyone. But remember, flattery rocks and all, but we'll accept constructive criticism, too. Especially if we learn something that is useful and change how we do things here at Bright Eyes.

    Keep the entries coming!

  10. MommyMelee says:

Wow, very cool. I'm experiencing severe dry eye right now so I'm in my classes more often. Would love a coach pair. Love the blog! I like the resources for parents.

  11. Natebw says:

    Great! Thanks for the feedback!

  12. McMedia says:

I'm a devotee of Coach eyewear … my FAVORITE fashion accessory. Understated yet makes a bold statement!

  23. Have you experienced the awesomeness of @BrightEyesTampa? Because Dr. Nate has a true *vision* on how a dr's office should
be run. I mean free Coach frames?!

  24. Krystal says:

Since I'm not allowed to wear contacts anymore (hello calcium deposits!), I need to re-do my whole look! Normal glasses? Check. Sunglasses? Can't find any cute ones that aren't 35789347 dollars. Free Coach frames? CHECK!

I just had my second child and my new years resolution was to get fit. I have lost 22 lbs so far and still have a way to go. I have some cute Kate Spades but I think I deserve a new look to go with my new healthier figure . I know my girls would love a stylish mom as well… since I'm not a shoe person I figure if my bag has to match something I'm wearing why not my glasses!

  26. lauratampa says:

I am so glad you are back in my network now! Love that you all are available via so many methods too!

  27. pbastian says:

You're really connected! Had no idea my favorite optometrist was a social network genius. And, of course, would love to replace my drugstore cheapies with Coach.

ps I tried to connect via Facebook but received the message that BrightEyes is 'under construction'. Will give it another shot tomorrow…

  28. Natebw says:

    The math checks out. 🙂

  29. Natebw says:

Sounds good. Remember that you can enter as often as you like!

  30. Natebw says:

Good for your doctor for noticing that your contacts were having trouble! Surely glasses that you loved would make a big difference.

  31. Natebw says:

Pat, That is funny. Try this link:

  32. jmcclenn says:

I am really enjoying my Coach eyeglasses and would love a second pair, possibly sunglasses. They are fun and classy at the same time. Would be nice to have another pair.

  33. jaimeewhitcher says:

Okay…so I reached in my purse the other day, and my sunglasses were broken and only had one lens. So I definitely need a new pair! And my birthday is coming up, so I think a great new pair of shades would be a GREAT gift, Dr. Nate!

  34. amycallaway says:

Your office is the BEST!! My six year old daughter doesn't enjoy going to the doctor (big surprise there), but she always talks about how great you all are, and talks about the Doc and the staff!! Not to mention that you took care of my husband in a time of need.
Not only do we love your office, but my Oakleys were devoured by a dinosaur while visiting Jurassic Park this summer at Universal Orlando, so I am in desperate need of a pair of decent shades.

    YOU ALL ROCK!!

  35. amycallaway says:

I just recommended you to all of my Tampa friends on Facebook … ok, so I only have 3 since I just moved here last year. But I'll bet with some nice sunglasses, I could make more friends, and recommend you even more 😉

I'd give some constructive criticism, but I just can't think of anything I'd improve!!

  36. Linda Hill says:

You know how much I LOVE my contacts, but a pair of Coach sunglasses would be awesome too! Love your blog – keep up all the good work!

  37. MindyGirl says:

To the Bright ☼ Eyes family,
First of all, I have to tell you that I'd been wearing glasses since the ripe ol' age of 8. Every time I would go to the eye doctor's office, I was scared, anxious, and just plain hated it. Since becoming a member of VSP and finding your office through them, I've been reformed. I enjoy my visits because everyone is friendly and well-informed. Since my first visit three years ago, I have received a LASIK consultation and gone on to have the surgery, but still come back for my annual exam. I also have my entire family signed up as patients of your facility. I believe the Bright Eyes office is a unique one and I always recommend it to co-workers looking for an eye exam. I was not aware of the great promotions you do until I became a fan of yours on Facebook a few months back. So, I guess what I'm trying to get at here is…a pair of Coach sunglasses would totally make my day a bit more bright! ☼

  38. kristicat says:

I love this opportunity! Why, because I made the mistake of picking a men's dark plastic frame the last time that I got new glasses, and I now look like Johnny Depp with my hair down. While this may be a great thing for men, I am not loving it since I am a lady. Please save me from my Pirates of the carribean faux paux.

    Help,
    Kristi

  39. juliajoyclayton says:

Let me just begin by saying, I am a self-proclaimed “Certified Eye Snob”. I have worked in the medical eye field for almost 10 years. I have always figured that if the need arose, I would have a doctor at hand to “fix” my vision problem. That is until a few months ago.

I was working for the Eye Bank (meaning, I no longer had a doctor for a boss) and was becoming increasingly bothered by my double vision. Double vision is one of those things that pretty much every doctor I've ever worked for would respond to with “I don't 'do' double vision”. So here I was, seeing double, unable to read for longer than 15 minutes without getting irritated, and not working for someone who could “fix it” IF they even would have tried. After doing some online research, I came across Bright Eyes Family Vision Care. The “Eye Snob” in me wondered if this office could help. After all, I've worked for the best of the best, and THEY didn't want to touch double vision with a ten foot pole. Now I see why…

In all my 10 years of ophthalmology experience, I have never seen or had a more thorough eye exam as I did at Bright Eyes. Dr. Bonilla-Warford was amazing! Since I have quite a bit of experience with eye exams, not much was gonna get past my skepticism! But I was acutely aware of how knowledgeable he is. My inner “Eye Snob” was quickly fading into the background. Exams for double vision are very time consuming, mostly for the doctor. There are many aspects to consider. Dr. Bonilla-Warford discussed my options and I walked away with a pair of glasses that allowed me to go back to “normal” again. And they are super cute, I might add. The selection is INCREDIBLE. (I'm a “glasses snob” too, by the way…)

So why, one might ask, do I need these Coach sunglasses?

In no particular order, my top 3 reasons:

*I'm getting married in May and need to sport some cute shades for the honeymoon.

*I will tell this story to anyone who will listen–and I have a pretty big mouth.

*I dropped a pretty penny on these amazing glasses I'm currently wearing to even see to type this blog. Darn you for having such cute glasses…. I can be walking advertisement! 🙂

(Even if I don't win the sunglasses, I am still totally and utterly impressed with that visit. I have found my optometrist!)

  40. ThePromoter says:

A pair of Coach to go with my Armani's …
What to wear what to wear!

  41. Natebw says:

    Thanks, Amy. YOU ROCK! 🙂

  42. Natebw says:

lol, thanks for sharing us with your Facebook friends anyway!

  43. Natebw says:

Well, you can't wear both at the same time? 😛

  44. Natebw says:

This is a heck of an entry. Thanks for all your kind words! Remember, if you REALLY want to win a pair of Coach, you can enter more times before this Saturday. 🙂

And congrats on the upcoming wedding!

  45. amycallaway says:

Well, I will if I can find a worthy replacement for my Oakleys 😉

  46. So, being type A, I just figured out that we drive 25 miles each way to see the awesome Dr. Nate. 😉

We'd drive 50 each way, really!

Plus, we are going to start taking out two little sons to him as well.

  47. I love Bright Eyes. My husband and I have been coming there for years. And now we moved from the area way on out here to Land O Lakes…. way on out. But we still drive all the way “in to town” for our vision needs…. a good 20 miles away. Additionally, I refer everyone I know to Dr. Nate for the same reasons we continue to make the drive there from Connerton… because we believe his services are incomparable. And, let it be known that if Dr. Nate chooses to give some other soul a pair of Coach glasses (I just receive the purdiest Coach bag for Christmas that I am sure would look even better with matching glasses) then I will commit my continued loyalty anyway.

  48. EYE don't want to post too many times, I just want to be sure to FRAME my opinion just right. Dr. Nate and his staff are incomparable. That is why we drive from Land O Lakes to Bright Eyes. We are BRIGHT people who SEE the VISIONaries they are in providing superior services and eyewhere. I am a PUPIL of great businesses. I have turned a BLIND EYE to other vision chains.

  49. joysunshine says:

Okay, you want originality? You got it. I'm feeling a little “Wizard of Oz” today, so here are two songs that I re-did just for the contest! Hope you like them! (Oh yeah, and I hope I win…hehe)

    #1

(In the tune of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”)

    Somewhere over in Westchase
    Way up high,
    There's a place that I heard of
Where I could get new eyes.

    Somewhere over in Westchase
    Skies are blue,
And the frames that you dare to dream
    Can belong to you.

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the glare is far
    Behind me.
Where troubles melt like numbing drops
And wearing new Coach frames I got
    That's where you'll find me.

    Somewhere over in Westchase
    Frames are free.
    Someone has to win them,
Why then, oh why not me?

    #2

(In the tune of “If I Only Had a Brain”)

    I will savor every hour
    While lookin at the flowers
    And not have any strain
And my face would be so dreamy
While the sun's so hot and steamy
If I only had COACH Frames

I'd be cute, not just a little
    As any individ'le
I hope I'm not too vain

    (Dorothy–a.k.a. Dr. Bonilla-Warford)
In the sun you'd be winkin'
While your shades would hide your blinkin'
If you only had COACH frames.

    (Scarecrow)
Oh, I would watch the sky
As the sunset on the shore
I could look at things I never saw before
And then I'd sit and look some more

I would not be missin' nuffin'
I'd sing till I was huffin'
I'd play out in the rain
I would dance and be merry
    Life would be a ding-a-derry
If I only had COACH frames!!!!

Now, I'm gonna click my ruby slippers together three times, and hope I wake up the winner! 🙂

  50. joysunshine says:

You could be “The Wizard of Eyes”. 🙂 I just made myself giggle a little….

  51. shanaiu98 says:

I moved here 3 months ago from Indiana to Florida. While I move often with my job as a hospitality professional, the most difficult things is finding new doctors. 2 weeks after I got here, wearing contacts for 13 years or so, I was having problems with my vision, my contacts were the problem. Moving into the West Park Village community, I was really excited to see that there were so many local businesses right outside my door! So, I walked across the street to Dr. Bonilla-Warford. He was very straight forward, very casual and made me feel very comfortable in choosing this practice! During my first visit, I watched how easy going and comfortable his patients were in the office, as was my experience. I soon found out, after having to reschedule my follow up appointment due to work, that he is booked! Even being on cancellation lists–there isn't such a thing! I don't think anyone cancels, which speaks volumes. My return visit was just as good an experience. I am comfortably wearing contacts tonight, after going 2 months not wearing them. I am confident in my follow up appointment and know that I am on the right track to my old self!!

  52. Natebw says:

    LOL. Good work!

  53. Natebw says:

You've really outdone yourself with these. I literally did laugh out loud! 🙂

As I bid farewell to the contest, I figured what better tune to exit by than a re-do of “Leavin on a Jet Plane”… Enjoy! 🙂

All my blogs are typed I'm ready to go,
I'm hoping that tomorrow I'll know
If COACH frames will been mine to shield my eyes
But when dawn is breaking in early morn
A Bright Eyes winner will soon be born
Already I'm so eager I could die

So give some new frames to me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold them there for me to pick them out
Cause I'm prayin for some COACH frames
Don't know when I can buy again
Oh doc, don't count me out.

  56. joysunshine says:

I'm dying to know!!! Who won????? (Pick me! Pick me! Hehe…)

  57. Natebw says:

The results will be posted tomorrow!

  58. Natebw says:

    Yes. 🙂

  59. Natebw says:

Thanks so much. We are pretty busy and *do* maintain a cancellation list for people that can make use of it.
